About Shane

Shane Rhyne carries a generous helping of unwarranted optimism with him wherever he goes. If you ask, he will happily tell you he is a “the glass is half-shattered” kind of guy.

He is an East Tennessee native who has worked previously as a husband, tv and radio broadcaster and marketing genius. Now he does this.

Shane is a co-founder and co-producer of RainShine Comedy, a cooperative of comedians producing live comedy events in and around Knoxville, Tennessee, including the popular First Friday Comedy at Saw Works Brewing Company. Known for clean, intelligent, playful comedy that explores the brighter side of his darkest thoughts, Shane is a popular choice for hosting comedy shows and charitable events in the region. He has been named a runner-up in the Knoxville Mercury‘s Top Knox readers’ poll in 2015 and 2016 for Top Knox comedian. Shane is also frequently a featured guest in Knoxville radio, television, and print media features on comedy and the local comedy scene.

He was the Scruffy City Comedian of the Month for October 2014, which moves him one step closer to membership in the exclusive club of performers to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony and Comedian of the Month award.

Shane is available for booking as a comedian or special event host/emcee or if you just need someone to stand around awkwardly near the buffet table at your next special event.
